I have a S/H partner press you can have for $75 if you want something to get you started. I have other bits and pieces here so give me a heads up what you need and I'll probably have it.
Scales, primer trays, case trays etc
Thanks to all who made comments and offered advice on presses. After a fair bit of reading and speaking to a few people I have ordered the Redding Boss press and a set of .204 competition dies plus most of the other accessories for reloading.
Sorry Dave, been off line for a while. $440 was for the Rockchucker supreme kit, press, scale, thrower, hand primer and various nick nacks. Best price I have seen in the mags is $575 plus post
Sinclairs just sent me their catalogue. They are into to precision reloading for serious varminters or benchrest. They state they dont stock all brands, just what their staff use themselves and recommend. Your redding press is in, so is my rockchucker but significantly no Lee presses!
I actually ordered my redding competition dies from Sinclairs , it amazed me how quick they got the stuff sent out from the states and at a reasonble price. I have orderd gear in Australia that took months to arrive.
No as long as there is no gun parts in the order then customs will let them though. Although they did give me a call and wanted to know if any of the items were gun parts, I said no so they let them through. You may get hit with a fee from customs if you have the previlage of them opening it ( Not really sure why I have to pay for them doing their job.) and you will get hit with GST on top. As long as your order is below $1000 dollars the import tax duty isn't too bad. I was told if you have large orders put them through as a few smaller ones that way they don't go over the 1000 dollar threshold. Not sure if that is the case though. As I said Sinclairs were quick and efficent , alot more so then Customs who hung onto it for a day or so but even then the whole process took less then 10 days and thats including weekends.
hmmm yeah it is only hornady cam bullet puller so it would be a small order. Might ring around tomorrow to see if it is worth it or not price wise. Thanks for the info guys.
Advice from JB 747 was make sure they dont mail using a courier company, US post airmail is preffered. My dies turned up less than a week after my order, no customs issues. The advice was if a courier company gets involved they think they have a duty to go to customs and get you to pay tax.
Yes the postage is normal but sometimes the stuff you want cant be got here or the price is much dearer anyway.
If you want cheap then look for DnR sports. Got two competition seating dies from them for the same price that one would have cost here. Only problem was it took over 2 months for them to turn up and the OAL length guage never showed, at least they didnt charge for it.
for $15 or 20 I would rather support our locals too. When you get into wildcat dies then its easier to use them than run around here trying to find them. My usual gunshop told just order from the states!
