Does anyone have a .260 is factory ammo available where from,who makes or is handloads only

A mate of mine has a rem700 sf he fell over when told factory prices so he just got 308 brass and full length sized and reloaded them and away he went

I have a 260 factory ammo is expensive never bought any. I just load my own. Its a great cartridge

A mate of mine has a .260, great medium size cartridge. He reloads as factory is expensive, but hey we reload for everything we have except rimfires of course, part of the game isn't it.

Had one, building another - haven't bought factory ammo for over 20 years, that stuff is a waste of money.

Mate buy 243 brass and expand it up, much simpler than taking 308 down to 6.5 unless you enjoy neck turning. I would suggest anyone thinking of 260 look at the 260AI it works wonderfully well and I have achieved 4 inch 5 shot groups in 1k matchs with the AI version.
I played briefly with 85 grn Sierras while forming brass and easily got 3400fps without pressure so I would expect to do a fair bit better with some load work on velocity. It shot a nice 1 inch group at 300 yds without any load development by the way.

I use a 260 a lot you can buy loaded ammo in major gun shops and also 260 remington case are available I reload all my cases. I have new 260 cases that I haven,t used yet but I use mainly 243cases they are easly sized up by just putting them though your 260dies

Haven't talked to Shane about it yet, but have been collecting bits for a .260 Ackley for a while now. What action did you use mate? - I have a Rem 700 short here which I will get trued up. It will be going into a McMillan A5, Jewel trigger, AICS det mags etc., don't know about the barrel yet, but am thinking around 28"? Am using 139gr Lapua Scenar in my 6.5x284 and was thinking of setting up the .260Ackley for the 123gr Scenars.

There should be no need to form 260 brass as it should now be readily available from most of the Major LGS. I think the 260rem is a real performer and punches above its weight. If I didn't have a 243 and a 270 I'd definately add a 260rem to my safe.
