Difference between benchmark here & US.???

Post by native hunter »

G"Day All
I Have seen a few loads for .204 cal in american forums and was wondering if their benchmark powder that they use is the same as our ADI benchmark 1 & 2, the load that i looked at did not state that it was 1 or 2.
On another note do you think benchmark powders(OZ) would be good for a .204 cal.

Damien Webb.

Hi mate welcome to AusVarminters.

http://www.adi-limited.com/handloaders- ... alents.asp < This will help your american friends.

I know SFA about the 204 mate so I can't really comment as I really dont know and dont want to guess. I do know that BM2 is great in my 222rem.

The US benchmark is our BM2.

BM2, 2206 and 2206H all work a treat in our 204.

I use,( apparently), BM2, with 32 Sierras in my CZ .204, and it shoots very well. Sierra recommends 27.3 grains with that bullet, and that charge DOES shoot better in that rifle than anything else I've used in it, so far. It shoots well enough in my Savage, also. I really like the stuff, it burns cleanly and I can shoot several hundred rounds without a serious drop-off in accuracy.
