Hi All,
Just wondering what projectiles you have used in 243/6mm?
How were they accuracy and performance wise?
ATM I am trying to find a load using 100 grainers. I have tried the lead tipped hornadys but am tossing up whether to try the remingtons? Basically they are about $6 a packet cheaper and if they perform the same then why not?
The best i could get was 1 inch at 100m using AR2209.
Any other suggestions?
Cheers
Brett
Ps Intended use is on pigs and goats

bsimps,
I use the 80gn Winchester soft points on game, they are cheap and work nice in my Tikka 243
I have never shot anything larger than a pig/goat with them. They group around the inch mark but for a hunting load this doesn't concern me too much. They usually drop on the spot when hit in the 'boiler room'
For a varmint load I have been using 75gn speer HP's, they perform really well on the lighter critters, and give the classic butterfly/explosion effect on bunnies for as far out as you can hit em
now my local shoppy has stopped stocking Speers
no matter there's bugger all rabbits about here atm. They group around the 3/4 inch mark.
I tried some 95gn Nosler BT's....... they were hard (tougher construction)and I did not have much luck with them grouping at 2 inches, though I did not try to make them shoot either as they were too expensive coming in packs of 50
I reckon the remo's sound good

Have a look at the Hornardy 95gn SST's. About .750 inch groups at 100M with these out of my rem VLS. only thing that has bettered that group size at 100 where 70 grn Hornady hollow point flat base but these are definetly a varmint weight pill they really make the red mist fly
when they hit. Dont know how the SSTs perform on larger critters as Ive not shot anything with them as yet.
