head space guage

Post by trevort »

I have the stoney point one. I bought it a while back thinking I wanted to have all the tools I thought I should have.

Well I now neck size only and will only fl or run thru a body die if they become hard to chamber.

Am I missing something? Should I be making use of this some more or is a classified ad coming up?

G'Day trev,
I have the same and do check occaisionally to see how much I'm bumping the shoulder.

The fool proof way is to remove the firing pin assembly from the bolt and resize until the bolt closes easily on a sized case. Then you know you have sized just enough.

The Redding FL S type dies with bushings are excellent and when used with the competition shellholders makes this a snap.

As always, you sell something 6 months later you need it so I'd hang on to them as they don't take up a lot of room in the tool box.

Cheerio Ned

I was going to sell my compaitors as i got the davidson ones that have a base too. The comparitors use the same body to hold them as the headspace guage.

I suppose I can sell the comparitor inserts to someone who already has the body.
