I used Vihtavouri (spelling ) primers for years until they were difficult to get.
Then switched to Remington mainly because of the ease of purchase
When I started to load for the 20 PPC went to BR4`s and bought a heap.
The cost of the CCI BR4 now is ridiculous so went and bought 1000 Rem 7.5`s and was not overly impressed
The club got some S+B small rifle primers in and I thought what the hey I will try some
First cab of the rank was the 5.56x47 Lapua
The load was 37.8 grains of 09 behind a Sierra Match King Tipper 69 grain Tablet
Velocity with the CCI BR4 was an average of 2975 fps with an ES of 20 fps
Same load Using the S+B attained an average of 3010 fps with an ES of 5 FPS
Guess which I just ordered ?
Which Primer and why ?

We have found up here in F.N.Q. to get better figures with S & B. primers.

Re: Which Primer and why ?
I havent used the S&B small primers but have tried the LR primers and like them a lot. Much cheaper than other primers and they give best ES/SD in a few different calibers.

Re: Which Primer and why ?
A good mate gave me 2000 vihtavuori small rifle primers, ive never seen or used them before, ive always used 7.5 rem in my 204 and 17rem.
Interested to see how they go.
Little to no info about these vihtavuori primers on the net.
