IIRC you aren't partial to round nose rounds but SK Magazine (or Subsonics) still kills bunnies. I've found them to be quite accurate. You may not like the waxy coating though...

Re: Best 22 Subsonic Ammo
40gr Winchester hits with about the loudest thump.
CCI also works well and has soft lead and a larger HP tho not as large as the 40gr Winchester.
Neither have greasy or sticky lube like some European offerings.
RWS is annoyingly greasy and also more expensive.
SK is greasy.
Eley is very good but expensive.
Sellier Bellot seems OK but has a sticky lube like a sort of Alox so definitely don't carry it in a lint or grit filled pocket...

Re: Best 22 Subsonic Ammo
I was using the Winchester subsonic PowerPoints, but I've found they don't feed well through either of my 452's, so have started using CCI's, however, I have a shortish pipe on my favoured 22, so don't bother with subsonic ammunition with it, that rifle runs Mini Mags.
I tried some RWS, but it didn't seem to shoot all that well with my rifles.
My local stores, didn't really have a whole great deal of ammunition available in subsonic offerings.

FMD but hasn`t 22 ammo gone up
Went to the LGS and grabbed some Winnie subs mainly because they are hollow point and have bugger all wax
The Ol;d Winchester/Sportco`s don`t like extracting gummy cases.

Yes, ammo shortages have been impacting the US market for close to a year and subsequently prices have skyrocketed.MISSED wrote:FMD but hasn`t 22 ammo gone up

Don’t know why that would impact our local pricing but it’s been climbing the same way. I used to buy a brick for $85 (my preferred brand) but it’s now close to $130.
My old Sportco isn’t a fan of gummy rounds either and my lever has feed problems with any of those funny shaped 22’s that Winchester often make.

Re: Best 22 Subsonic Ammo
I prefer the RWS hollow point SUBS over the Winchers in my 452 CZ. SK shoots well at the range for accuracy but not tried it in the field.
