Re: Moor Creedmoor questions on loads

Hi lee. I have a mate with a Tikka A1 in 6.5 CM that was struggling to get either accuracy or velocity with 2209 and a variety of 140-143 grain pills. He got some Re26 off me and found a working load at 48 grains but of unknown velocity. I searched around a bit and cut this from a US forum

"Interestingly, RL 26 was strikingly benign with absolutely no pressure signs from 46.5 gr. up to a slightly compressed load at 48.1 gr (making stupid 2965 fps). "

Looking at the posts it would appear that Re26 is the powder for a 6.5 CM. At $54 a canister locally (Townsville Gun Shop) it makes it far more attractive than either ADI or Winchester powder which are approaching $60.
Mark showed me his groups with Re26 which i thought were rather ordinary until i discovered they were at 200 meters. All were well under the inch which surprised me also as all those chassis type rifles are fucking useless at group shooting. I always felt it was his gun rather than loads that were his problem. The bullets were 140 RDFs. Hornady cases. No idea what primer.

ok Guys Shot the Creedmoor at 400m today in very calm conditions, the range flags were hardly lifting and winchester 760 powder has done the trick !!!! I am buying moor for the Creedmoor !!! :D :D I was shooting at a one inch target patch, you know the ones used in the state rifle associations on their targets, and was able to hit it 3 times out of 5 shots with the misses being within half of that patch diameter. this was with hornady brass and Nosler custom comp 140gr projectiles and 41grs of Win760. I am going to visit a mate out west in a month or so and will setup some paper targets at different ranges to post some pics but was unable to do it today as the target was being marked after every shot.
Also thanks for posting the video's on the Creedmoor and web links :D
Here's a picture of the rifle, I have removed the Schmidt and Bender PM2 as the optics were not as good as my March 2.5x25x52
