Grabbed myself some more SST projectiles but in 140gr instead of 130gr. Also have some 2209 now.
So now for some silly questions...
The previous owner provided some scribbled notes on his reloads suggesting 54gr of 2209 or Win760 was his preferred load across a range of 130gr projectiles. I don't want to simply assume this is correct, even if this is what he used in the rifle (and mentioned on several US forums).
My 130gr SST loads worked well with 44.8gr of 2206H, taking down three fallow in quick succession AND also provided decent groupings at the range. For what it's worth 44gr of 2206H and 130gr SSTs yielded a MV of 2850 out of my rifle.
Not having much reloading experience does anyone here have any suggestions for 140gr SSTs with 2209? I'm thinking a start of 52gr and work up to 54gr, but being a tight ass don't want to waste any more ammo than I need to.

Unless you are confident in what you are doing, there is no such thing as a short cut when reloading, follow standard proceedures and you should be fine. I would think that 3000 fps with those 140gn bullets would be easily achieved, 130s regularly get around the 3100 with good loads.

Yep, found some reliable load data from another manufacturer.
Just finished a cautious set of loads and will try them sometime in the future.
