Flip , mate would be interested in knowing just how the 30 grain Bergers performed , would they be going along pretty fast I would imagine . How much 2207 did it like.
Camel - mate how could you even suggest that to a died (oops not quite, dyed ) in the wool 17 tragic. Gods gift to bulging eyes with minimal pelt rape.
Missed - he's an appreciative fellow & thanks you , but with his purchase he's received 119 Lapua fireformed he thinks , or maybe just necked down to 2204 , & acquired another 300 Rem in 221 Fireball , he doesn't get to shoot a great lot so they should last him till eyesight goes completely. While your all in a Vart T helpful mode he also got this Redding Type S match Die set stuff & in the box were 2 smallish ( about 1/4" with a 20 hole in them ) with "Redding" 227 & 226 showing on each one. Any of you experienced handloaders able to throw so light on what the could be used for ??
Thanks , as usual
Barry
G'day Barry,
The 30's are still in the working up a load stage. they are nice and consistent in accuracy as one would expect. Ive not settled on a final load. and am yet to get them on the mogneto speed. I broke the clamp latch last trip
ill keep you posted. Ad as always should you want some to try just sing out and ill sort you out
Flip - gave the 30 grain Bergers a run about a week ago , 19.5 of 2207 & Rem 71/2 primers for just a little over "clover leaf" stuff for 5. Was too lazy to put on the MagnaS. Also tried 18.4 of 2207 behind the 32 Grain Sierra BK's & bugger , hardly any difference in the group at all. Just how good are these things & this with a 2 & 1/4 lb trigger !! I know , I should show a bit more respect for the 17teens , specially the 17 Rems, Fireball , AH &even the 204 Ruger.
Barry, it seems to be a common problem with these little 20 cal cases, they will eat just about any of the lighter bullet offerings, I am feeling your pain, its just not right that they shoot small clusters without massive amounts of stuffing around finding a load that suits, though I didn't know they had a variety of clover that has five segments to each leaf.
Some blokes are just a little slow on the uptake of them, you know Mick_7.62 and Waldo, though Waldo does have a 17 so he can have a bit of a reprieve. 20 cal is where its at these days.
So Barry we can expect a bit of a right up.I am looking forward to reading of your adventures and of course the pics and addition to the forum tallies.
