I set up the 6/250 11 years ago. It has a 273 neck and was meant to be 'no turn'.

I just got lapua 22/250 cases as a birthday present. Opened the neck of a few seated pills and measured with a micrometer. I will need to turn.

So I set up the turner using some of the old brass. Seated a pill and measured. That's thicker than I thought it would have been.

So I measure some of my loaded ammo. 272, 2723, 2722. And I've been sizing with a 267 bushing all that time. EEK
I wouldn't have had a micrometer when I got this rifle and I don't remember how I came to the bushing size. I could have asked Clancy to measure some dummy cases, I could have used a vernier. Or brass could have flowed over the very many firings to thicken the necks.

Who knows, but that's not enough neck clearance. A few thousand rounds later and it worked without incident with luck it seems.

Nothing beats the 'can I slide a projectile into a fired case' test. My 6x47Lap is the same - unturned cases have about a thou to spare so I give them a light turn.
