Trev, I would be having a look at 2213SC for the Wobbly :D

With the lighter pills I have found either 2213sc or 2209 and with the 100 plus grain pills 2217 worked best if using ADI powders.

2217 may give slightly more speed than 2209 with a 100 gn pill but uses 15 grains more powder to get that 75 fps.

Ahh, you may well be right there, but speed isn't everything, a change of powder that fills the case more can give more consistent performance, I found that going to a slower powder also makes my 300WM a lot more pleasant to shoot, this is also in the 338/06, the recoil is slower and not such a sharp smack in the face/shoulder, and I shoot both rifles a lot better. Not saying that it will work out more accurate, but it is worth a try. :D

Wash your mouth out young fella!!! Speed isn't everything??!! It's a Wobbly and was bred for speed. Just can't see the point of putting an extra 15 grains in to get such a small return.
The 257Wobby shouldn't punch that hard in the shoulder no matter the powder. Not saying a denser charge can't make a difference but I wouldn't think it much with this case and projectile choice.
It may all well be a moot point though as Trev seems keen to try it once more so if the BT's and 2209 don't convince him there won't be much more to muck around with.

It does use more powder but have found in a few different rifles that the more the powder fills the case the more consistent accuracy and velocity shot to shot has been. There are going to be others jump on the band wagon over this but it is an opinion formed from testing lots of different powders in lots of different calibers wasting money along the way. There are a few other reasons for 2217 that I have discussed with prominent Fclass Open shooters too but that is another story.

Nah mate, I'm not man enough for Wby cartridges, second reason is I already have a very good 25 calibre cartridge and don't see the need for doubling up. And last but in no way the least, I like watching you squirm with frustration.

So Trev, have you given them a run yet? Camels waiting to hear if he can get another cheap Zasty action or not. :stir:

Don't blame me, I wasn't involved back then. (Takes 3 big steps backwards from the line).

There was no "letting" involved Trev, you just wanted to emulate me by being a cheap arse, nothing wrong with the action mate, more than likely its the operator or something else.

Calling bullshit on this Rob, you were up to the neck in it, you kept putting up posts about how good a cartridge it is, and poor old gullible Trev jumped in and swallowed all the hype. You do know he is like a spoiled child, don't you ?

I'm calling shenanigans on your call of bullshit! :D
If memory serves correctly, young Trev already had his wobbly before I got involved. He first encountered one at a Missedathon that preceded my first attendance by 1 year. Those are the facts your honour and I now rest my case.

Ps. Trev isn't gullible just very believing. I would have thought being a financial adviser he would be more attune to due diligence. I'm wondering how many Guinness's contributed to the purchase idea. :stir:
Pps. I still stand by the .257 wobbly being a fantastic cartridge (for varmint and game). 8)
