I have noticed that Redding has case forming dies for 6mmPPC from 7.62x39. Lapua brass from Custers is $40 for 7.62x39 and $115 for 220 Russian.
I want to form .20PPC. Has anyone worked with the 7.62x39 Lapua brass. Would it be worth the effort?

G'Day all,
cant say I have, but I suspect you would be work hardening the brass much more going from 7.62 to .20cal and you would almost certainly have to neck turn the much thicker neck of the 7.62 brass compared to the thinner .220 russian stuff. You may be able to form using only the neck sizing die from 22PPC to 20PPC rather than buy a complet set of dies for 7.62 and down.
I would rather go with the 220 russian with a known accuracy potential. Are the 7.62 cases as good as the 220 russian?
It will be interesting to hear from others who have been there done that. Any takers?
Hope this helps.

Mudgegonga I think you will also find that the 7.62X39 brass uses large rifle primers where the 220 Russian brass uses small rifle primers.
