Winchester or Federal once fired brass?

Post by dave »

Hi guys,

Buying some factory ammo for my 6mm AI and was wondering what you think of these two, any better than the other or more or less the same as far as factory brass goes?

Cheers

Ive used both for my 22-250 rem and still do I cant say any thing negative about either.

Some of Win stuff I have has been loaded 3 to 4 times and the only ones iIve lost have been dropped.

The Fed stuff was quite easy to prep needed bugger all uniforming. Some people have talked about crimped primers with the FED brass but mine didnt seem to be that I could tell

Ive been happy with both.

happy shooting

I think you'll find it'll only be the military cartridges with the crimp, ie 223 or 308 namely. I have plenty of federal 223, and it does have a crimp.

I've got 300WSM Fed cases with the crimp.

Dave i have rem win and fed brass here in 7mm mag and the fed was the only brass

that needed annealing straight up as the neck tension was all over the place some

of them felt like they haven't been done at all while some felt too soft when seating.

the other two were fine.
