G'day Mick,

I feed mine 2209 also with the 87 grain vmax. Like it as it fills the case more than say 2208 and also doubles up as a powder for the .30-06 shooting 150grn pills.

60g of 2209 150g pmc pill win case rem 700 bdl back in 1996 good combo shot 3/4 for three and 3017 fps

you would need more powder now as they slowed 09 down a bit when they sped 07 up for the yank market

some years back. they changed more burning rates but i don't remember which ones ...

Geez she would have been "cracking" then instead of a Boomer hahaha

I use 50.5gn of 2208 for 2880 with a Dyer HBC 155gn.

Funny how it started as a 243 question and ended up being a 30/06 thread. 60.1 2209 150 SST. Geez winter is here the wind is a howling outside.

Sometime shooter - haha "sometimes" these things happen.
I am not worried, it will get back to the original question whenever somebody wants to add anything, and I was genuinely interested in the "dirty aught 6" load info anyway,
I just use 155gn projectiles in her, but always interesting to see what works for others in case I want to go up in weight.

63g re22 and a good 180g pill works on the bigger stuff i used that years ago to.

Mick,

I used to load 58.5grn 2209, behind a 150grn SST, but I think that sometime shooter is more around the mark (60 grn 2209) in terms of a proper load. Mine is a figure I used after talking to the gun smith - really need to do some proper load development. I found that I wasn't using the rifle for shooting deer very much, so I downloaded it to take 125grn Speer TNT's with 2208 powder. Now doubles as a large varmint rifle, with the projectiles doing the trick on deer when I need it.

This thread has got me excited about some load development for the 30 ought again!

Well I actually only got the 06 for Deer and only have loaded the 150's cause I had some and was very tight money wise though with a tenant in our house up in Brissy and the wife starting a new job I can get down to working out my sambar load. Was thinking 180 something and I'd use RE22 but it is hard to get down here. So guess I'll probably stick to 09 or 2213sc. Mick how are those Taipans I you got going, I am nearly out.

Well I still have about 300 x 70gn .243 left out of the nearly 500 that I located through your efforts and getting some from Used Guns.

So for light projectiles I am set for a while.
