Iv'e broken nearly everything.
It wasn't the greatest press in the world Chris. Bought on a very tight budget 20 years ago. It has done some good work tho.

The problem is that most people can't calculate or set the correct taper angle to bore it accurately .Glenn wrote:Chuck the die up in your lathe and use a boring bar to cut the bitch out!

The trick to saving your Lee press is don't use full length dies with expander balls , use body dies where possible that don't size any of the neck it's darn near impossible to stick a case so bad it will not just punch out . No decapping rod in the way and no neck grip . Just drop a rod in the open top of the die and whack the case out.
I am sure however that reloading mistakes are being made that damaged the press .
Re: Iv'e broken nearly everything.
Haha i learnt that the same way Con has 43 times.... first time i has to remove a case was using my 308 die to true making a shortened 308 case hahaha was about 3mm from complete and pop.... So i understand completely how it happens to Con... but after the 5th or 6th HE SHOULDA BOUGHT HIS ONEjohno1 wrote:Every loading room should have a stuck case removerIve used mine twice in nearly 40 years, its the best bit of back up kit you can have. Lost count how many times ive lent it out, I think Con has borrowed 43 times

If i hadda read this before the MIssedathon i would offered $10 for the die id someone can chop it in has so i could make a wildcat neck die from it

Iv'e broken nearly everything.
The case is out of the die. After Glenn's comment I thought "fuck it". However I didn't use a boring bar, but a drill. Mounted it in the tool post so it would cut on the flute edge rather than the tip.
I will never lend dies again.
I will always clean my dies before use.
I will make a new press.

Kickinback
I don't want to steal Happy Jacks thunder but a body die just sizes the body
not touching the neck of the case at all. Usually used in conjunction with a neck die, all the best
