Re: shell holders
for future reference, the hornady shell holder has a wider diameter cut through the middle of the shell holder compare to the rcbs.
hope it helps

Re: shell holders
No worries.
Bit of a bitch how there not all the same.. would defianlty make life easier.
Even Lee Auto Prime & Lee press shellholders aren't the same... as far as I know anyway.

Re: shell holders
Sorry to be picky but there are a lot of shell holders out there and a brand to brand generic comparison may not work.
There are tolerances that all brands work too so you could get a tight one and a loose one from the same manufacturer.
If you've encountered an actual problem it might be worth telling us as someone may be able to help. So what number hornady are you comparing to what number RCBS and for what cartridge and brass combination?
Or are you talking about the priming attachment?
Lee autoprime shell holders are a special case and shouldn't be considered in the discussion. When you see them you'll understand why.

Re: shell holders
no worries m12vlp,
have just bought a new hornady cam lock trimmer and the rcbs shell holder(10) won't clear over the end of the spindle. Don't have a hornady shell holder yet although I'll pick one up today.
thanks for the help mate.

I guess the presses have more tolerances than the trimmer and you'd want to be sure there was no slop in the trimmer.
Good luck with it.
