223 69 gr round/load

Post by Iggy »

G'day all
I finally have a Savage 16FSS in .223 Remington with a 1:9 twist 22" barrel. My aim now is to develop an accurate round for hunting / varminting / F Class Standard using components available from the VRA shop.

These components are Winchester .223 Rem ammunition [69gr SMK] {use cases for reloading if appropriate}, Sierra .224 69gr HPBT MatchKing projectiles [required for F Class Standard]; Lapua & Remington cases; ADI AR2206, 2206H, 2208, 2209 & Benchmark 2 powders; and Remington 7.5, CCI 400, CCI BR-4 & CCI 450 primers.

What round would you build using the above components and why?

What are some good starting and if possible, accurate loads people are currently using?

Thanks

ps
Have already been through all the suggestions of up or downgrading rifle / action / barrel / different barrel length / different barrel twist / calibre / projectile weight / etc, etc, etc. These are not the answers I am looking for: the aim is to develop an accurate 69gr round/load for use in what I already have. :D
