G"day all
What is the typical ID of a fire formed case mouth in .308 measure and what should it be once it has been neck sized????
What is the maximum and minimum inside diameter for the neck once it has been sized.??(in thousands of an inch.)
I would assume this has an effect on neck tension and accuracy.??
Regards

native hunter,
I have found that its all relative .. all brass is different (thickness varies) therefore measurements vary that is why I batch match brass. It is also a reason I neck turn brass for concentricity and uniformity.
BR shooters are anal about brass as its all different and they use bushing dies for the same reason as dies also differ.
Heres a link to a bucket of info on the 308, have a read and see if that helps.
