Hi guys,
I am looking at buying a new scope for my 700P LTR's in 223 & 308 and have been offered a VS3 4.5-14x50 with boon and crocket retical for under a $1000.
The advise i need is about the lack of paralax adjustment. All the scopes i have now are either AO or Side Adj but they are cheaper scopes. Will i need a paralex adjustment to shoot out to 500m with a 308 or 300m with a 223? Having only used my brothers VX2 4-12 a few times i need some advise.
Seddo.

I would say yes, you do need parallax adjustment.
The price you have been offered isn't that cheap - the non adjustable model retails for $1,164.00. For $164 I would buy a new one and get exactly what you want.

Jason,
Thanks for that, it is a secondhand scope but it is still in the box.

Was it purchased in Australia? If not, the local importer won't honor the warranty.

yes it was purchased here. The Leupold distributor (Nioa i think) have 20% off the wholesale price of Leupold scopes this month so i was able to get it at retail less 20%.

seddo, I have a VX3 4.5-14X50 with the side adjust, and i find that once I go past 10X you need the parallax adjustment to tweak the image, especially at night or on small targets. Might not matter so much if you were shooting at goats sized animals.
