Eagletac T100C2 torch - walkabout setup

I got this recently as a walkabout setup for whatever needs hunting at night. I already have a 2XAA powered Fenix E20 (105 lumens) and used that to good effect in May on my 6.5 Swede and .17HMR, bagging a few foxes out around 80m. The Fenix is a great "all around torch, but I wanted something with more power and longer life for a walkabout kit for mostly bunnies and foxes around home. Having spoken to a mate about it about it, and tried his T100 I ordered two of these from the Eagletac store (one for my shooting mate Troy) and the batteries from Dealextreme. The chargers came from my mate who is into torches but they can also be sourced cheaply from Dealextreme. :onya:
The T100C2 is part of Eagletac's "tactical" lineup so I'm now tacticool.
The torch is 14.2cm long, 2.5cm at the body and 3.1cm at the head. It's 112g (I assume this is empty....)
The torch as two setting - turbo mode is 220 lumens and low power is 55. Twisting the head adjusts the output. Focus is fixed. There are two reflector options, being a smooth one for maximum throw or orange peel for more spread and smoother transition b/w the hot spot and the spill parts of the beam. I went for smooth. The light is a "cool white" with that currently trendy slightly bluish tinge.
It can use two CR123A's or one 18650, which gives a longer runtime. The CR123's are rated at 14hrs on 55 lumens and 2 hours on 220. The big 18650 is 20hrs / 3hrs. I got two 18650's so I'm good for 6 hours at full whack. The light is regulated - it won't dull as the batteries go down, it will just go out.
This torch comes with a hexagonal ring for a "cigar grip" that also stops the torch from rolling away. This is removable. You get a "magazine" for the CR123's and some spare O rings.
Here's the torch with the spare battery and rubber scope mount I got from Dealextreme.
Mounted on my 4-12 Bushnell Trophy.
You can pretty much put these velcro and rubber mounts where you want, as long as there's room for the velcro strap. On a scope bigger than mine the light might be too low due to a bigger objective bell though. These mounts also fit on a double barrel shotgun.
Or mounted up top.
The light can just be moved down to sit flat against the stock until required, then rotated into position in a second. No, the mount is not rock solid - but this isn't a laser sight so pinpoint alignment isn't necessary. It's quick and easy to swap to other guns too - though the mounts are very cheap anyway. Also, if you bump the torch hard there is some give in the mount so you won't damage the light.
I'm yet to try this light out on a hunt, though I had old mate's identical one fitted up the other week before I got mine and it's very impressive - especially given the price. Picking up fox eyes at 150m will be no great drama at all for this light, and it will be great for hunting rabbits on foot over spring and summer. TBH 55 lumens will be adequate for snotting bunnies with subsonics at normal ranges, with a quick turn of the head putting it into 220 lumen mode as required.
