LOKAWAY SAFES

Post by Ackley Improved »

Hi

Recently I bought a Lokaway gun safe. It is the E1 series, and I must say I am very impressed with it. Value for money is excellent.

The cost was $750.

The problem I was having when choosing a new safe was the length of the benchrest rifles, where anything that had a ammo box, the rifle would not fit. The Lokaway I have does not have the ammo box up top, rather in the door under lock and key. Very good idea.

The interior is all padded, comes with a adjustable support for holding the rifles.

The model I purchased has the electronic keypad. I was a little uneasy with this idea to start with, but now I would not use anything else.

One feature that I really like about the Lokaway, is the mechansim of how it locks. The door itself slides behind the edge of the safe, which results in no open edge that it can be pried open.

It weighs 152kg empty, which means it does not need to be bolted down.

To any one that is looking at buying a new safe, I'd find it very hard to find better, and it is Aussie made!!

The safe I have differs from this a little. Different handle, different keypad, different colour and it weighs a little more!

Cheers

Yes, it would be one of these I will eventually upgrade to. I saw an eight gun model with the traditional lock in the $400 ish vicinity. I like the way the door slides in behind the edge.

Hey guys,
This is not law but i would highly recomend any safe that is under at least 300kg. empty be bolted down.

The reason for this is i can wheel 200kg safes out my shop door on a bag trolley by myself, imagine what 2 or 3 guys whith a bag trolley can do to your unbolted safe.

I would hate to have my firearms stolen, it would be such a bloody hassel and a loss, thats why i keep mine in a 900kg bank safe.

Food for thought.
cheers,
Shane
