John Leidreiter's book on knives, skinning and tanning

Post by Model70 »

I have been trying for ages to get a copy of this book, it is still in print apparently but cant find it anywhere. They go on egay for around $50 but sell for around $25/$30.
Anyone know where to find a copy or have a contact for Leidreiters leather works?
I done a google search and found four different numbers for them and all where a different business! :? :?

I dont have that specific book but I do have a tanning guide based on old Leidreiters info (which is how I learnt to tan) that I can flick on............just depends which bit your most interested in - skiining knives or tanning?

By the way Im pretty sure that Leidreiters is out of business and Leder now do a version of their tanning kits etc...........

The book is no longer in print (according to the following link)
http://www.biblioz.com/lp25762674491_600.html

but if you follow the link and click their search button it does suggest a new copy is still available from the USA for $85 AUD - if you dont want to shell out that much, best bet would be keep an eye out on ebay........here is one currently on offer (bid at $36)

I saw the book 2 weeks ago in a 2nd hand book shop in Merimbula (5 min away ) . Price from memory was $40 + . Let me know if you want me to check it out or get it and post it to you.
