Scope wanted from Optic Zone

I recently ordered a new Bushnell Banner scope from The Optic Zone, and I am very pleased with the product and "really" pleased with the service I got. I was a little concerned with ordering a scope from overseas, but not anymore. Infact I am so happy with the service I got that I am just about to order another scope from them for another gun of mine. Its for my .17rem which I will be using for spotlighting and I`m looking at something like a 4-14x50. What brand would you guys recommend. Nothing too expensive, but no cheap stuff either. Something pretty bright & clear would be good for my aging eyes!!!!

Bullcat,

And there in lies the problem with optics old son, generally speaking you get what you pay for ... so you need to decide just how much help your aging eyes need and buy a quality scope that will last IMHO.

cheers

I bought a couple of Sightron S1 3-9x40's for the kids 22's. They are pretty good to look through. The only other scopes I have to compare to are Leopold VX2's.

I've just bought a Bushnell Elite 6500 from them, the 2.5-16X50 with a fine multiplex reticle, and it is brilliant!

I bought them from the Optic zone. They were the same price at Cabelas but the postage was cheaper from the optic zone. They cost me about AU$136 each by the time I got them here.

Thanks guys... I know that with scopes you get what you pay for. At present, I reckon I could stretch to around $500 for a scope. Maybe a little more but not much more...

My Annie .17HMR with 4.5-14x40 Nikon Buckmaster from TOZ. Great little scope, side focus, low target type turrets.

Is there much difference between a x40 & a x50 when spotlighting?
