Shotgun shell belt advise please

Howdy all, I am considering a shotgun shell belt - either leather or synthetic. I have never used or owned one before and relative cost is not an issue as both are well under $100. Could someone please fill me in on the relative merits of each? I am guessing that leather may not be so great in wet conditions, but for me if it's raining I'll be indoors. The purpose is really for dry weather walking around. I'd like it to last a long time too and give many years of happy service. Colour is not an issue. Brown or green are both as good. Thanks, Jeff

Mate I had a leather one (till my staffy found it) that was given to me by my cousin, looked after they will last for eons. I used to condition it with boot oil. A fella I met down near goulburn had a synthetic one where the stitching had started to rot out, but it comes down to personal preferance. For me its leather all the way.

I also have leather ones that are around 30 years old - and they have had little care. As Model70 says, a bit of leather dressing will make them last a long time.

Yeah mate I reckon leather is the go too, I have belts around 20 and 30 years old and they are fine. Get a nice wide one too as they get pretty heavy and can get uncomfortable.
One word of advice but, and it works on all ammo belts...always take the shells out of them if your not using it for awhile, otherwise the loops stretch and the shells can fall out
A good soak in water brings them back but never quite the same

I would suggest leather too, once it is worn in and a bit softer they are really comfortable.
Have a leather 12G belt, and a leather 22 wrist strap (i never wear it, it looks like something an emo would wear). Both were handed down through the family and have lasted without an issue, I cant imagine a synthetic one lasting as long.

The term "emo" is sometimes stereotyped with tight jeans on males and females alike, long fringe (bangs) brushed to one side of the face or over one or both eyes, dyed black, straight hair, tight t-shirts (sometimes with short-sleves) which often bear the names of rock bands (or other designed shirts), studded belts, belt buckles, canvas sneakers or skate shoes or other black shoes (often old and beaten up) and thick, black horn-rimmed glasses.
In recent years the popular media has associated emo with a stereotype that includes being emotional, sensitive, shy, introverted, or angsty.
"
So not really anything like goth, no worshiping Satan, more "waaaa, nobody understands me, I am going to cut myself..."
EDIT: and why the F does it say .177 air rifle below my name, I never wrote that.

Thanks about the post count thing, I should have realised that.
The problem with emo's, is there are a few out there that are serious. Some guy on "myspace" recently got told to "go cut yourself" so many times he eventually did, and died.
Even when its the internet, you need to be careful of people's feelings, you never know what they will do.
That being said, the t-shirt (and now sticker soon to go on my lawnmower) "I wish my lawn was emo, so it would cut itself" is hilarious.

Mac,
another vote for dingo gear (bought some cartridge slides recently). My old man had a synthetic 'elastic' belt, and all the shells started to fall out after about 2 years when it crapped out! My leather belt is still going after 12 years...
I saw one of them emo's once...
