Hi all having trouble with my old lightforce blowing bulbs lately had it for about 8 years have blew 2 in that time so far in last 5 months I have replaced 3. Think I might upgrade any input would be good on new light don't want to speed big $$ but a few hundred

Another lightforce? Or are you keen to try something different?

Only reason I have put off grabbing one as they have come up on special.

I have both and they definitely need an adaptor. Lightforce are good and I used them for many years, until I tried a Powerbeam. Now run an 11" roof mounted Powerbeam and will never go back. Tried HID but prefer Halogen.

I have a power beam door jam unit with an adapter for lightforce. How do the foxes go with the hid lights?

I have only used my spotlights hand held, mainly because I use them with a walk battery.

I use a Lightforce 240 blitz and 240 HID.

Both work well, blitz for close stuff and HID for longer shots.

My experience with HID on foxes that it was just too powerful & tended to frighten them more so than the ordinary light & in the end I sold the HID.

Yeah, forgot that bit, I made mine out of a 2 inch piece of 6mm alloy flat.

This was exactly what I found. Used it a handful of times then went back to the Halogen.
A mate who is a pro roo shooter also had the same experience. Another mate loves the HID though. Everyone is different.

Yeah, same here, went back to the old way, can see well over 200m which is plenty far enough at night, most shots are way less than that. I also found that the way the light is worked plays a big part, no good trying to fry their eyes out, just enough light to see what you are shooting is all that is needed.
