howa and bipod

Post by LoneRider »

guys,ive got a howa 1500 in 308,sporter barrel,plastic stock.might be 10 yrs old or so.
i had a nikko stirling night eater on it from new but this went back under warranty.[it went white out at full power[
now its got a nikko stirling target master and the same shitty mounts [clamp vertically]
i got a bipod while i was down south,it wont lock on tight unless i reverse it.
is it just me or has anyone else had the same problem with other bipods ?

figure id have a crack at NRAA Hunter Class, just for fun

What do you mean by reverse it?
Which way are the legs facing?

All of mine lock up well with legs facing forward and then folding down - swinging towards me.

No rule that says you have to have the legs of the bipod pointing to the muzzle. :?

How about putting a bit of leather between the bipod and stock as a packer so you can tighten it up. Cut the end off your belt   .

I assume you want to protect a wood stock so the felt may be better than leather.

Ok, pad it out with sandpaper. It’ll be more manly buying it at Bunnings.
