Cleaning Patches

Post by The Raven »

What patches do you use? Do you make them or buy pre-cut ones?

I've been using pre-cut patches for convenience but boy how they prices have increased since my last purchase!!!

If you use the right size jag you only need one size patch ......And I just go in to spotlight every 5 or so years and buy 3 odd meters of flannelette ..... something with lines on it makes it easy to cut up .......

Cleaning Patches

A bloke from the Benchrest club sells his own on eBay. I am very happy with the price and quality.

FWIW I usually use a jag 2 cal’s smaller and double patch. Certainly gets more shit out of my barrels.

I'm working my way through the stack of old flannelette nappies for both bore patches and stock rubbing.

Thanks for that. I'll have a look to see what he has.
