I just got a Tikka CTR in 6.5CM and am wondering what stock/Chassis would be best for 3P shooting , well I guess there's lots of idea's so let's hear them, for the time being ill use the factory stock.
Also I don't like the McMillian A5 as it's forends too wide. I do have an A3A5 on my stiller tac30.

Anschutz silhouette style would be my choice, a hatchers is probably the easiest way for a T3 inlet,

which ever one is comfortable to YOU...

Lee I'm not a big fan of them for the field, but the GRS stock is well suited to multi positional shooting. It's just a real pain to carry trudging after game.
If your looking to spend a bit more and have something fully adjustable, the Eliseo would be worth a look. Never used one only seen a few so can't comment directly on how good they are.

Believe it or not, the most comfortable stock i find is the Boyds Pro Varmint. Not too wide in the fore end with a nice grip and buttstock that works well for prone, kneeling and offhand. But that is for me. Others may not agree and again not the greatest stock to carry in the field. I believe Hatcher makes something very similar.

I have one and they are very nice, i dont use that rifle as much as i should.

1) Yes I considered the anschutz silhouette stock, but it's a bit bulky.
2) Well the eliso chassis ?? yes seen it and it maybe an option, I dont think it will get banned for looking like a black rifle soon.
3) I picked up a spare 10 shot CTR magazine for it today new in the wrapper for $215, yes that's cheap !!! most want $250 and am happy to say 10 rounds of 6.5 CM fit in nice and easy, now if you want to know why I said that ?? well my old Sako TRG22 mags only held 9 rounds and the tenth was a very tight fit, I also picked up the wide forend attachment for the time being.
And no I am sorry to say it's not for sale yet I want to shoot it in a few 3 p matches, as it is, and see where ill go with it, but thanks for asking. When it's delivered to my dealer ill take a few pics and post an update. also I have been considering the masterpiece arms lite chassis, but will see, as I have found you are slower to fire your shots away in a rapid fire

Hi All, well I didn't buy a chassis, mainly because of the issues with the police controlled firearms registry's, I was going to buy a manners PRS1 stock with a built in mini chassis, but $2500 is about $1000 over what I wanted to spend. so had to settle for a manners EH1 in OD Green ,that's elite hunting stock, it's non adjustable, but that's easy to fix,I may fit a Kydex cheek piece ? unless one of you has another option ?
Anyway here's a picture I grabbed off the net. mine will have the Tikka CTR stainless in 6,5 Creedmoor fitted.

Here's the thing. Considering all the positions, or contortions possible in a PRS match, a fully adjustable stock would be set to suit what position? For example, a square cut butt like the EH, works great off a bench and prone, but without any reverse cut on the butt, during offhand, sitting and kneeling possibly as well, the toe digs into the pectoral muscle leaving daylight between the heel and shoulder, so on firing the rifle rotates upward, brake or no brake. So i guess one stock suitable for every position in PRS may be a myth. I would think a few degrees of reverse cut on the butt could even out the other positions a little.
As i said at the start, i think that is a very well designed stock.

Thanks Tony for your thoughts , I used to own a McMillian A5 and the forend was to wide so sold it off(as I have said before), I just happened to find a McMillian a3a5 which seems to just work, a few mates have commented on the chassis and most have said you are slower to fire a rapid string of shots and yes, one adjustment does not fit all positions.
Anyway I have posted in the Gunsmithing/DIY section a question about painting the stock, it's already painted by Manners in OD Green, asking what Paint to use ? that I can buy here in Australia. also I am looking into the different types of hand stops. Ill keep you all updated.
