Camping Dunny Deodoriser
Does anyone have a portable camping toilet?
If so, what deodoriser/s do you use?

See if you can find stuff called Ban-odour, its what we used on the long drop at the brush camps. Failing that you could use phenyl. I think thats how its spelled

I like the thunder box Kerriet bought back when she did camping. Seals the blowies out until you get up fold it back into its bag and walk off

If you look up some of the Grey Nomad sites - you will see that a lot now just use napisan as the bio agent and deodoriser.
It works well and is cheap.
One of the above points is pretty accurate for most of them as people too

Re: Camping Dunny Deodoriser
I was coming to that conclusion after reading a few grey nomad posts. (Geez, they get caught up on the minutiae don't they?)
It seems that the Coles brand Ultra Booster is better as it has more Sodium Percarbonate.
Funny, I used to use it when I was brewing - they might have been right when they said I made shit beer...

Na2H3CO6 is still available in home brew shops as 100% concentration as a cleaning agent and is cheaper than nappy san.
What the grey nomads probably did not tell you is that it dries out all your rubber seals, so unless you want your toilet to eventually leak or are prepared to pull it apart and vaso the seals all the time it is not a good option.
Another thing worth knowing is for any of the chemicals to work they need a bacteria which urine does not have so either poo in it or put some yoghurt in to activate the chemical.
How often do you intend to use the toilet and is it worth trying to save on the chemical?
If you do not want to use the liquid there is pouches you can buy for under a dollar a pouch if you get 2-3days per pouch it has cost 50-35c a day with no screwing around

What was the gap payment to get the bag fitted? Or did they bulk bill?
