Switch Barrel Lug
Hi guys,
I was aked to look at getting a West Texas Ordnance Switchlug for a customer yesterday. I had herd the term mentioned but never seen a pic, until yesterday. The concept looks really interesting for those who want an easy way to switch barrels or for those starting who dont want to have to buy vices and wrenches. Price wise there wont be much different in going either way but foe ease of use i think they are great. I spoke to my exporter and they are happy to ship some under my current export permit so i will get a couple and do some testing, i will post some pics and or videos as soon as i can.

Re: Switch Barrel Lug
If barrel change results in less than 1moa change in poi as stated in their video, it is of interest. Having to remove the action from the stock to change barrels is a deal breaker tho.

The youtube clip (@ 1:50) says that the barrel can be changed with the action in the stock....kickinback wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2017 6:39 am If barrel change results in less than 1moa change in poi as stated in their video, it is of interest. Re: Switch Barrel Lug
What the shifty fucker doesn't tell you is you need a parallel barrel channel in you stock. Are you prepared to have a 32mm barrel channel on your light sporter, even if it's only for a few extra inches after the barrel taper starts?curan wrote:The youtube clip (@ 1:50) says that the barrel can be changed with the action in the stock....kickinback wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2017 6:39 am If barrel change results in less than 1moa change in poi as stated in their video, it is of interest. Re: Switch Barrel Lug
You are right, the channel needs to be over sized. Depending on your scope height it doesn't have to be that over sized. Its fine if your running a chassis, most of them are full diameter all the way through.

Re: Switch Barrel Lug
the barrel to receiver fit would have to be dam near perfect and machined to a very smooth finish and if you change out the barrels too much they do become loose, sort of reminds me of a stevens falling block or winchester lever action take down rifle. I much prefer the remsavage nut conversion as the barrel is held tight, but you need more tools and a head space guage
but all in all not a bad idea

I'm guessing this is only for Remington clones?

Re: Switch Barrel Lug
In theory you could do it to anything with a screw in barrel but would need to pin the lug to the action.Plowboy wrote:I'm guessing this is only for Remington clones?
