Grabbed a spare from the LGS last week I specifically asked for a Powabeam Bulb.

First trip after purchase blew a bulb in the Powabeam.

No worries I thought I have a spare slipped it in and what a turd of a thing it has more spread than the Ponderosa

Yep you have to be real careful which one ya get,. they are all OSRAM but there is a big difference between the so called VERTICAL and HORIZONTAL filaments,

had this problem a while back and even rang Powa Beam to get to the bottom of it. they told me that both types are right for the light but one gives more spread. Ive got the bulb part numbers listed in my book. ill go have a look and post which ones what

Righto.

The Vertical Filament OSRAM part 62138 HLX I find this one gives the tightest spot. and its not hard to tune the dark spot out of the center.

The horizontal filament in my experience give the wide spot that is really hard to tune. OSRAM part 64623 HLX.

I found the same thing with my Lightforce.
Need the verticle filament for best tuning.

So was it a vertical filament, I should have a few sitting in the shop. Should be able to get one dropped off to you next week if you have got one by then.

The same thing happened to me with the 240 Blitz.

I had to explain it to the blokes at the gun shop, don't sell wide spread globes for spotlights!

Also and most of you will know this But....if you start blowing globs regularly, replace your switch. they start adding resistance and if they ever feel warm... piss them it off and get a fresh one. Ive learnt the hard way as with most things.

Have heard that putting a relay into the circuit will stop the switch getting hot, I haven't put one in mine, but the switch gets hot enough to let you know its bloody HOT. I will be trying this one of these days, anyone know how you would wire it up ??

Just turn the horizontal one onto its side and it will then be verticle.
