Aussie made cleaning rods

I've decided to start making cleaning rods. As a shooter I feel the issues of certain branded rods that won't rotate smoothly through the motions of cleaning. These are all aluminium and stainless steel construction with quality bearings to guarantee effortless rotation. 44" will be the standard length and the industry standard jags and brushes will fit. Colours will be fixed to rod sizes to avoid confusion. Custom colours can be done on request. The 2 end caps are showing the different text options as I'm still undecided as to which one will be the final choice.

At this stage I haven't fixed pricing. The next few weeks I'll be able to get numbers sorted and go from there. As a rough idea somewhere between $80-90.

Are you planning on making them in a few sizes or all calibres? The 7mm and up raised that question. I have been using dewey and its 22 and up, 30cal and up and then the big ones where ive seen them made in 22, 24, 26, etc.

Seddo at this stage I had planned to use the 22 cal size for 22,6,6.5 and the 7mm and up will do 7,30 and anything above that. I can do some in between sizes.

Keep us posted.

My 35+ year old Parker Hale rod is on its last legs.

Will the business end be male or female? That is will the rod screw into the jag or jag onto rod?

Won't the postage be restrictive?

The parcel being awkward ?

I'll be interested in one of them when you get around to making them.

Business end will be female. I'm not a fan of threading the rod end once it breaks or bends it cactus.

Auspost won't accept them correct. They will be sent via courier and I'm working on that as we speak.

Very nice. Do you have your own anodising setup or do you send out?

Currently I'm outsourcing the anodising. I have plans to get setup myself if I can find enough work to justify doing so.
