A mate had one used to shoot it beside my 25.06 and yes its a little flatter and a little longer but in the real world its not a noticeable difference.
Barrel life is a ok but they are an expensive bugger to run Wby cases are not cheap and can be hard to get (I use them in a 257wby necked down to 6mm and get about 800-900 rnds out of a barrell but thats an extreme example)
Stick with the 25.06 its just as effective in the long run
