Boyds Stocks (revisted....again)

Post by The Raven »

OK, I know this has been done to death before but I can't find the exact thread (in over 39 pages). Other than ordering from Boyds direct, is there an easier/better/local way to obtain a Boyds stock?

I'm after a Prairie Hunter Nutmeg to suit my Marlin XS7 (sick of the flexy plastic stock).

You could try and find someone but why bother as it's too easy to DIY.
Ordered today would be at your door inside 3 weeks and no middle man charges and approx $220 - $240 AUD depending on exchange rate.

cheapest by far will be direct from Boyds but I have seen I think Cleavers advertising them them as instock etc. Also seen someone selling them on ebay but from memory they where around $350.

eBay dude has put prices up. Now $450 with free postage.

Shit, at those prices I should be doing similar.

Any reason you don't just order from Boyd's?

Thanks guys, just looking at options so as to appease the minister for finance.

Direct sounds like the best way...

If anything is said simply reply with "but that is what you told me to do"

Usually gives at least 5 minutes of peace.

Yep or ordered one of hatchers if they had one to fit.

Either way, now the die is cast, I am sure you will be happy with your new stock I know I was when I got mine.

Yep, I actually did consider a locally made stock. However, as my Marlin is never going to be a serious varminter (with it's paper thin barrel) I didn't want to invest too much into the rifle.

For a better rifle, I'd definitely put more effort into considering the local options.

I have to get onto Mr Hatcher and finalise the new stock for my 22PPC, after using thumbholes on the 20 and 17/222, I cant seem to get a grip on the Boyds stock on it.
