This Shehane Tracker BR stock was given new life by AJ Hydrodipping in Goulburn NSW. It looks great.

Very nice Robert. The hydrodipping I had done on my rest was very good too. Was it a plain timber stock underneath? What prep was required and if you dont mind (maybe via pm) what was the overall cost of it?

It was ply laminate. It had a bit of builder bog in it as I had changed actions and it looked pretty bad. The people at AJ Hyrdodipping asked me to give them an old stock so they could do a demo for me. (I make F Class stocks). It now looks a million dollars. I gave it to them stripped of the old finish. They prepared the stock with a special undercoat, then dipped it, and then did a gloss clearcoat finish. I believe the pricing for an F Class / Benchrest stock would be $250, with hunting stocks a bit less.

They do a really neat black (red or yellow) carbon fibre faux finish.

Yes Im looking at either a bright metallic green with carbon fiber finish or my local dipper has a very nice $100 aussie dollar bill pattern as well. Considering a regular paint job with a bit of airbrushing runs over $500 here the hydrodipping process is economical and more attractive.
