Anyone have an open export licence with McMillan?

Post by tripledeuce »

So I have a stock with McMillan which is now ready to ship, they are telling me an export licence is required (not the case for my last stock in May). Does anyone know anyone who has an open export licence with McMillan to save me the $250 or so I do it myself.

Cheers, Dave

Some lads have told me of usabox I think it is.

It's a U.S. Po box holding facility so you get your stock sent there, then they send it on to you. I checked it out and set up an account. A colleague has had heaps of stuff shipped via this joint. They even hold your gear till you get enough together to save on shipping fees.

Seems legit.

And it is 100% illegal for them, for you and for the original sender if the item is a firearm part.

Sadly McMillan was forced to recognise and comply with the ITARs midway through August this year. Triple, you are not the first and won't be the last to be caught by this change imposed upon McMillan by the US State Department.

Freight forwarding is fine, but not if you're shipping export restricted goods!!

I was going to post something about ITAR but it would only attract black helicopters

HSS previously charged about 190% of US prices for McMillan stocks. It will be interesting to see what they charge to use their permit.

Apologies for my previous post. If I led someone into illegal activity then I am greatly sorry.

I am embarrassed for my ignorance.

Most of us won't hold it against you for too long. You'll learn more by mistakes- and it's way more fun!

Would this cover all their stocks?
Or just the "military" looking ones?
