What can you lot tell me about the Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20x50?
I am thinking of this scope for a long range rifle build, however also like the fact that the 6.5 x magnification gives me a bit of wriggle room in the event of a closer shot presenting.
Rifle will be a .308 Norma Magnum.

Cheers,

Mick

Had one for about 4 years on a 204 mate. Very happy with it and would buy another in a heartbeat. Even Andrew reckons it goes all right and he is a true Sightron fanboi :D

Cheers James,
My only experince with "high end" optics is my Loopy Mk4.
So all input gratefully received.

Sorry to correct you Mick but Leupold is not high end.

I have one with Hunting turrets which is its only downfall.

The 6.5-20 Conquest is discontinued it is now replaced by the 5-25 Hd5
I have not looked through one of these so cannot comment

Yeah Dave, I have one, but the only thing I can tell you about it at the moment is its black and has a bit + sign in the middle. :P Will be putting it on the 300 WM in the next day or so. If it is anything like my other Conquest scopes, I will like it. :D

Didn't Camerland have some of the 6.5-20x50 Conquests going cheap $600, not sure if they export or not. I've got a 6.5-20x50 and its a rippa scope, very nice to use.

I have emailed them to see if they will export, will keep everyone posted on the outcome.

I have two - one with hunting turrets on my .22-250 for spotlighting, and one with target turrets on the Omark for F class. Both simple duplex reticles. Love them. Very clear.

Top end of 20x is a little light on for F class but a mate and I used it to come in second and third in the 300 & 400 yard 10'ring shoot at Hamilton this last Saturday - the winner was using a Stolle panda 6mmBR with March glass.

I reckon 20x will be ample for what you want though Mick.

Mick - I have one on my Fireball 17 , 204 SubMOA, 17 AH & I can't fault them. All Mill Dot. IMO way above Loopies & not too far away from my Swarvoski for nearly 3 times the money. Can't comment on how it will go on your cannon but would be surprised if your not happy with it.
Good luck.

Mick, definitely have a look though a HD5 BEFORE you order one on line. They have a highly curved field of view at the lower magnifications and you really need to decide if it is problem for you or not.
