Quick and dirty range report lithgow crossover.

Well a lithgow crossover turned up at the LGS today and just so happens I had a live permit, so race home at 4pm and throw a weaver grand slam on it and bolt down to the local small bore range. A quick 25m sight in and I compete in a field rifle event with it.
Here is my 50m sit and lean on post target. Not bad for off hand style shooting. Only using SK magazine (baked beans).

First impressions are, it points and balances nicely, trigger is crisp but a little heavy for me (will fix that soon). Had a few cases that didn't eject properly. Need to be firmer on the bolt back stroke and no more dramas. Bolt is smooth and slick.
Can't wait to spend some time testing ammo with it.

It's one of my better 50m targets actually. First impressions are they shoot as good as a CZ and I reckon they are worth the 180 dollars extra being Aussie made. That's just my opinion of course.

Do you by chance know the weight of the rifle? does the fact it turned up in your local indicate they are now available to purchase

Looks good Chappo. I had a play with the demo one at the Shot Expo and completely changed my view on them. I was particularly impressed with the size, fit and function of the action. I will be ordering on in left hand once they become available.

Please keep us updated on how testing and tuning goes.

I am looking at it for basically the same reason, tossing up a browning, cz, annie and this. I kind of ruled out the browning today, I didn't think the fit and finish was as good as it should be! I'd prefer this rifle if they made it in an all steel + wood configuration

Apparently it also comes in a laminated stock option if that helps.

Come on chappo, lets have some pictures.

Jacko, it'll be interesting to see how the left hander works out. Not nearly enough choice out there for us special people.

That's it, we want pictures!

They are a heavy barrel job too aren't they?

Exactly mate, bloody minimal really! plenty of tikka's and savages, but I love CRF rifles, and there sure isn't many of them  My 223 is one, but that's it, unfortunately.
