Goodies in the post

A few of you may know a while back i ordered some goodies that will no doubt be needed in the very near future. Given the ridiculous prices local retailers are forced to charge i decided id go with the online ordering option.

2 x boretech cleaning rods, a patch guide, few fox wistles, patch jags and 2 sets of loading dies later and my wallet was much more comfortable to carry. About 2 weeks later i had a polite tapping at the door, opening to see my very carefully packed order begging to be opened. Gleefully opening my package my first reaction was one you only get when playing with new toys. But then, to my dismay....

My precious rod had been violated on its journey from the states. Oh my what to do. Spying the insurance letter on the side of my package i figured giving the retailer an email might prove worth my while. A prompt response to enquire what had happened quickly had the ball rolling, and a new .22 cal rod on its way. 2 weeks later it arrived, along with a few other knick knacks i couldnt resist.

Personally i was very impressed with the service i recieved from lock stock. A simple email and a few photots of my rod ( keep it clean:twisted:) and no questions asked the replacement was on its way, arriving in perfect condition. As much as i would like to support Aussie retailers, when i can privately import

2x boretech cleaning rods
1x 17 rem redding FL die set
1x 17 rem deluxe collet set

and postage for all the above plus the odds and ends for less then what i would pay over here for just the dies, why wouldnt you buy some items overseas.

Anyway, not trying to start the whole local retailer vs overseas giant debate again, simply felt i got very good service for what i paid. Anyone else get an retailers shops, local or online that they feel offer a service that should be commended?

When I buy from Sinclair i dont use their website, dont like that checkout stuff.

I cant remember how I got onto Kerry Parker but I just send her an email listing what i want (I have the catalogue 8) ) and ask her to send cheapest way. i give my credit card number and then I get a present a week later.

Big rap for Sinclair

Another pat on the back for LS&B, have been buying stuff from them for a while now and never a hassle, never a delay. If they need to get something in they say so, do it straight away and get it in the mail within a couple of days. Great service and the prices are really good.

Mate please tell me you dont give her your CC number via email???
If you do I strongly advice against it as its quite easy to harvest emails or even if you or her gets a virus hackers can find it and use it as they wish as its saved in your sent items and her inbox!
Even if it cost you $10 to call her to do it it is worth it in the long run!
Then again I could be totally off base and you do call her which in that case sorry for the lecture!

Sorry mate, I'd just hate to see you go through the hassle of someone maxing out your credit card even though you probably wont have to pay it, I can't imagine it being a nice thing to go through to you!

May I suggest you use PayPal as it is secure and protects you from fraud to a certain extent.
http://www.paypal.com
See if she would be happy to accept paypal! All you need to pay someone is their email address and they get an email giving them options on recieving the payment!

Here in the states I use a large number of suppliers for my shooting neccessities. One benefit is the great catalog collection for reference on such things as scope mounts, scope spacing, etc.. Secondly, many, such as Lock, Stock & have web sites for instant access and publish "specials" at reduced cost. BTW, LSB sells bulk bullets very reasonably, and I use a great variety. Brownells just acquired Sinclair and thats ok. The Brownell catalog is the greatest reference of them all for detailed information. I use the online ordering and have not had any problems from any of the name suppliers. The postals get me once in a while, but as you saw the suppliers take care of it. Hurra for global trade. pogy

Like I said on another thread, those folks at Lock, Stock and Barrel are topnotch people. I'm glad they took care of you, but, that's what they do, they're just good people. :D Proud to have met them!
