Re: cree light
That's this light mate:
http://dx.com/p/ultrafire-wf-008-recoil ... 123a-22934
Could be any of a number of things - the driver circuit is buggered, the LED is buggered, or there's a current loss somewhere.
Driver: you can replace the driver if you are good at soldering.
LED - not so easy as that light uses a special mounting plate for the LED.
Poor electrical contact - not uncommon, usually it's not making contact at the tailcap / body junction or the little spring on the end of the driver is losing contact (mine did that - so I pulled that tiny spring off and that fixed it)

Re: cree light
thats him fen....
the spring looks alright..
it got dropped on the concrete again....
it worked alright after that but later that night when i turned it on,it flicked off.
never to go again.
i didnt really want to chuck it because of the 2 sets of batteries and charger i got for it...
what do ya think would be the next best thing fen ?

Re: cree light
This is another budget thrower:
http://dx.com/p/uniquefire-hs-802-cree- ... 123a-16538
Uses a reflector so has some spill but still a tight centre spot.

Re: cree light
Sniper uses D26 dropins so the whole unit can be replaced, if that's the issue:

Re: cree light
What do you do that requires you to know so much about torches. It would appear that there is not a torch question yo can not or have not been able to answer

I use them, research them, even build the odd one. They interest me.

on the same page, there was this one...
http://dx.com/p/ultrafire-c9-t60-xm-lt6 ... 7670-90778

Re: cree light
One of either, but you would only bother with 18650 batteries as they have a larger capacity.
Voltage range is 2.7 - 4.2v so one cell only.

Re: cree light
Not whingeing mate this little torch has been used every day/ night at work and has been dropped of trailers ,truck ,chassis's ,tyres and found the odd fox and rabbit or two for four years there is a fair bit of paint worn or chipped off and I am still running the original Wolfeyes 18650 battery.I reckon for my 100 smackers I have got great service.Camel wrote:MISSED wrote:Four years ago I shot my first rabbit using my Wolfeyes Sniper 260 and Last week the LED died.

Re: cree light
Missed mine died recently after the second time Kerriet dropped it. You could see current going through the LED but it was very faint. Picked it up a few weeks ago, turned it on and the lazarus effect happened
dont know why or how but happy!

Re: cree light
went and purchased the C9-T60
it turned up yesterday.
took it out in the yard last night.
bloody hell its bright.
a bit heavier and bigger than the WF-008.
its got a much, much larger spot and heaps of spill.
i was really after something more along the lines of a nice tight clean spot for shooting [rifle mounted]
but, itll do for now i spose, till i get jack of it and get something else
