Scope review coming.

Just a quick note to let everyone looking for a scope know that I will be doing a review on the Vortex 6.5-20x44 soon.
I expect to recieve the scope this week, it looks ok with side focus and 30mm tube. Life time transferable warranty is a great thing IMHO.
If the optics are as good as the Spotting scope I reviewed then these could be outstanding and reasonably priced from what I have seen.

Excellent mate, I have been talking with the guy about the same scope for my .17HMR. Your first impressions are of interest, even before you stick it on a rifle.

HiWall,
I have a couple of Leupold 6.5-20x40 VX III's and that will be the first look at the Vortex before mounts are even dusted off .. just a straight look and see side by side with the Leupold / Vortex I will keep you posted.

HiWall,
Unpacked the scope this evening an impressed already. The scope is of solid construction and has a lot of features I expect from high end scopes.
30mm tube
Side focus
Positive click adjustments
Target style adustments (1/4 click)
Adjustments can be reset to zero after sight in.
Fast focus eye piece
and a quick look in the last of the light showed a clear crisp picture and a nice duplex recticle.
I have to get some 30mm rings to set it up so I will do a simple side by side with the Leupold VX III tomorrow.
cheers

Jack H,
It should sell for a bit under $800 which I think is outstanding value if it compares well to the Leupold vari X III.

HiWall,
Dont read anything into the sale of the Leupold .. I have been thinking of getting rid of some gear for a while and now that my 13 yr old is starting to shoot Long range BR and is left handed and so can't reach his best with my right hand gear.
I need to pay for a Stolle Panda LB, LP and a barrel and a Jewell trigger and .. well you know how it goes.
Lowndsie was around the other day to pick up a different scope and saw the scopes I have sitting in boxes. Time to turn some gear back into cash .. same reason the 24 x 40 is for sale.
Will have something up tomorrow for you to read I hope.
cheers
