Hi all,
Wanting to add one of these to my firearm tool collection (for obvious reasons) and am wanting recommendations.
Wanting something that's good quality and performs well .... but doesn't cost a fortune.
Thanks in advance.......

Fat torque driver. Awesome and pretty cheap. From 0-60 inch pounds. Great portable little driver. Mine came with a heap of bits including the torx bits like on leupold rings etc.

What application do you have in mind? Action screws, scope screws or both?
I have a pair of Wiha torque screwdrivers and a deflecting beam Warren and Brown one. I prefer feel of the W&B, but both work well.

It's interesting I rarely see these tools in the gun shops.
I'm also interested in getting one to ensure I'm torquing things properly. It scares me to see how often people overtorque fasteners of any type. On firearms that can be an expensive mistake or a disaster.

Gehman manufacture a neat torque wrench for such application. You should be able to acquire one online or via any of the established small bore associations.
I keep one in my range box although these days I seldom use it.

Thanks for the info guys.
The search continues......
Someone asked what torque range .... I think the lowest would be about 15 inch/lbs to 95 inch/lbs (I have a Ruger 77 and they recommend the high setting for the front angled screw).
Do others think these specs reasonable ?
