Or go to a sandblasters place. They will usuall give you some used stuff and all you need to do is sift it and your sorted. I got about 15kg of it the other day so Im sorted for a while

Do you know anyone who works in a mineral sand mine? Its great cos its really heavy. I got some of the waste product when I worked at a mine. This stuff is already been through the plant to remove bigger stones etc and weighs nearly the same as lead.

Mate, all I did was look in the yellow pages for a local sandblaster and drove there with a 6 pack of crownies and two ice cream tubs. They filled both up with new purple sand and took the six pack.
I love Australia. Beer in multiples of six can get u just about anything.

Yeah, bit on the weighty side for walking around.
Mainly planing for use on the ute. When going across the bonnet or the roof when out on the back. The bags have got handles on them, so not to bad to move around. The old ute I have up on one of the properties has a mesh roof rack that stretches from the tailgate forward over the cab, with an area to stand behind the cab. The mesh dose not work with bi pods. The plan is to lay the bags on the mesh.

Is this the same as "Heavy Sand" they talk about.
Think its Zircon sand or Chromite sand.

Pink or red sand used by sandblasters is usually garnet crushed up. Zircon or ilmenite is the heaviest sand you can get if that's what you are after.
If anyone needs some in perth let me know.
