G'day, Im looking for a new scope for my .204 and was looking at the Sightron SII Big Sky 4.5-14x50. They seem good value, about $560 on eBay from the US. No gunshops i go to stock them so i havent seen one in the flesh. It will be mainly used under the light. Just wandering if anyone uses or has used one.
Cheers

I own 4 Sightrons 2 S11 Bigsky and 2 S111.I use them under the light and for a bit of sniper duty 8).I am very happy with them so far. But have a look at Arcadian sales they export and are very well priced my S111 6-24x50 cost me $754 to my door.

Ive ordered an 8-32x56 TGT/TDT SIII sightron. The target one with 1/8 clicks. Always willing to try something new and by all accounts they are supposed to be on par with nightforce br series scopes. Looking forward to using it when i get back from holidays.

Very interested in seeing what you think of that, and maybe running it next to my Nightforce as a comparison. I want something for my Fly gun but don't want to fork out for another Nightforce!!

G"day
I think 14 power is handicapping the .204.
Go for at least 20 power.

Jeff, first you have to tell me where in WA we can actually shoot fly comps... been trying for ages to get the local range to run a fun fly weekend- 200m rimfire saturday and 500m centrefire sunday

When i get back, our workaholic friend seems well overdue for a fox blast so when I get back from holidays we should tee something up.

PRMSC at the Wannerroo complex shoots fly every second Saturday morning.
A bit of a drive for Brad, but next door to your regular Jeff.

Hit the callendar link, next one is Saturday the 6th and fortnightly from there, I think they start about 07:00 contact the secretary for details.

Yes, and we (PFRC) shoot 400m Fly (The limit of our range) about 6 times a year and the calendar is on the website.

Native i was thinking of getting a 20x but the sightrons only have dot type reticles in that power, i just want a boring duplex. Just checked out arcadian sales that Missed recommended and they have a 8-32x56 SIII with a fine cross hair for $766.Might be a better choice i think.

SWH mate I have used a Sightron finecross hair and dot under the light and IMHO it is to fine.It is a great reticle in the daylight though.I have mildots on the 2 S111`s and duplex on the 2 Bigskies.I do not find the Mildots to any sort of a Hindrance.I use my 8-32 on 14x under the light.

Thanks for your help Missed, i might have to go the mil dot by the sounds of it .I dont like the idea of the dot reticle. It looks like bunnys could hide behind it past 150.
