Case is 2mm longer, so you could probably get a bit more powder in there, Andrew had one built last year, I presume the neck is the same length as a 223 and the should would be very close I think.
What new builds have you dreamt up during these idle times?

Rod I think I have posted a pic of a 223,223ai and a 22/204
100 metres no load developement
5 shots adjust left and then 2
What the magneto speed said
Rifle is a Sako 85 Varmint xs action factory standard barrel
Just ran a 204 reamer in with a 224 pilot
Seater is a Redding comp seater with the teamer ran in

Impressive crony results.
I was just wondering, anyone made a 6mm version? I have a suitable barrel here

If you want a tame 6mm it’s really hard to past the 6/250

Wasn’t there a set of .325 WSM dies on AHN recently? Or maybe that was .300 WSM.mick_762 wrote:Going to get a mate to pick up a 6.5 1:8 IBI Barrel from Cleavers.
Just recently bought some .325 WSM brass and some 200gn Corelokt pills - don't have a rifle as yet or dies....

Re: What new builds have you dreamt up during these idle times?
I apologise I haven't any exotic builds to put up but in this boring time I fitted a new ( used Redfield scope ) to my little Sako 17 A1 after the Pulsar N970 went to a new home.
The first 3 shots when lining up the scope wouldn't go off albeit a very small mark on the primer. Not like a Sako at all. Then I had a look at the bolt & something looked strange , yes the mounts were stopping the bolt from closing. Small hammering & problem solved. The following 2 shots not too far away & probably what one would come to expect from a Sako A simple 8 clicks to the right & we should be up & running. Don't think any further adjustments required.

I promise not to put any more up until the virus has gone.

I keep coming back to a .375 Wby for some reason.
No idea why as the .340 is more than adequate.
Given how much $$ I’ve spent in the last couple days though I think it will be a little while off. Maybe a couple of weeks. Lol

Mid corona curve splurge. Lol
Paid the final amount on the .224 Weatherby and that’s on its way down from QLD.
Also purchased a Pulsar Helion XQ38f thermal monocular. To replace the NV Bushnell I sold a couple of weeks back.
Hopefully it’s here in the next couple of days too.
Will be interesting to see how it runs.

The rifle I was thinking of putting this barrel on is 17Rem bolt face, hence the 204 or 223 case. If I did end up putting it on another gun with 308 bolt face, it will end up as a 6 Shehane.

Why am I not surprised you are thinking of a 375 Weatherby. Can you get ultralight 375 bullets to use this thing on rabbits? I have noticed you have a bit of a penchant for making extreme paddock pizzas out of bunnies.dashooter wrote: ↑Wed Apr 15, 2020 7:17 pm I keep coming back to a .375 Wby for some reason.

Sierra do a 200 grainer. Not really ultralight though.RDavies wrote:Why am I not surprised you are thinking of a 375 Weatherby. Can you get ultralight 375 bullets to use this thing on rabbits?
