Lansky knife sharpening kit

Post by Model70 »

Just bought one of these kits while at HPGS getting some V Max for the -250.
Just spent 20mins touching up 2 knives, one of which was a little rugged and after a touch up and a strop on the back side of my belt bugger me are they sharp!!
These kits are well worth the money in my opinion, if you havent got one, get one!

Another vote for the Lansky. I have the Deluxe kit and it is one of the things that sit in my camping box permanently. Always goes bush when I do.

Mate it was $65 for the standard kit, which comes with three grades of stone,
or there is the deluxe kit which was $165 that had four grades of diamond stone.
I got the standard kit and think its the grouse!

A lot of people on bladeforums.com like them. I got one and the simple Sharpmaker 204 crock stick sysetm at the same time - which also gets good reviews. I seem to be using the sharpmaker 204 - the lansky had difficulty clamping the blade of the small pocketknife I use mostly.

Glad it works well for you guys?

Do you find that you really need the oil?/
