Mounting a rail

Post by Cammo »

I was wondering what tension I should put on the screws holding a genuine Lithgow 101 rail to the receiver :?: . I have a Wheeler Fat Wrench.

Regards

Hand tight, wouldn't worry about tension, a dab of locktite or nail polish if you are worried about it coming loose. Torque wrenches are great for fucking fasteners but I don't reckon they have a place when firearms are concerned.

As Camel suggests. Add locktite then hand tighten.

I lightly coat the bottom of the rail with Locktite metal weld then screw it down and wipe off excess. Will come off easily enough if you place a hot iron on it for awhile. Never comes loose. I do it on all my rails.
Cheers,
Trevor.

It will work just as well as torquing them, and possibly snapping a screw.
