Well..well ..well Lowndsie I hope your proud of yourself dragging this debate up again.

The truth to all this is rather simple and in no way is it scientific.
Let me explain..
1. Kenny (having fun with this one mate?) you are very right in saying that with a full race PPC bench rig you wouldnt compete with a gun that fouled up and wasnt tuned.
Well you could but it would be a sad old day.
2. Keith (you love this argument I know you do    ) You have sound grounds for what you and Gale McMillan say by observation.

The facts...If their was an absolute this debate would not turn up every now and then, so lets accept that both sides can produce some reasonable arguments based on personnel experience, and both sides can quote barrel makers with good reputations.

How ever the real truth is FAITH.. and I dont mean the blonde at the local you smile at when ya pissed.
If you believe running in is needed and dont do it you will always blame that for errors and problems and lack confidence when you pick it up.

If you dont buy the breakin story you see it as another waste of time.

At the end of the day it doesnt matter as long as you..thats you the gun owner is happy and content and pleased with what you have got. All the rest is plain old BS.
Until someone can do extensive controlled tests that show real results you do what makes you happy.
20 - 40 rounds is not going to wear out a hunting barrel, poor cleaning practices will have a bigger impact over its life, so the wear out your barrell argument really dont mean much to me. I run mine in its only a personal preference.
And thats the fact

Cheers

Well said Rinso, you can change all the other variable's but you carn't run it in if its already ran. Speacily when you think that it could have made the poopteenth of difference if you had of done it. [/quote]

Kenny,

Take my word for it ..You won't get kjd to change his mind on this one.

But then again who am I to stop you trying... best of luck

ohh you could try telling him that running is is part of the ritualistic and pagan behaviour we inherent from our ancestors ... then again maybe not ....

Its all religion to me.

Until someone gets a whole pile of blanks, and cuts them in two, numbers the pairs and makes some rail mounted rifles out of them, cleans one, and runs in the other.. we are all pissing in the wind.

Silly debate, do it if you like, dont if you dont want to. But don't get all pissy over what is all conjecture and opinion. I'm not even going to chime in with what I choose to do, its not important.

Healthy debate is a good thing, but it can go too far.
