Tikka t3 10 shot mag

Post by britto »

Has anyone bought an aftermarket 10 shot mag for the Tikka T3?
I have come accross two different makes lucky 13 and AIHPA. The lucky 13 one is plastic and is currently available. The AIHPA is aluminium and will be available June 2015.

Like most I would assume, if I had the choice of metal or plastic I would prefer the metal. However given they are not on the market yet I am weary of rushing in early in case there are some teething problems

If any one has any info/experiences with T3 10 shots mags, perhaps even standard mag modification to increase capacity Id like to hear them.

When I had a Tikka (now sold) I bought an all metal one from Cleaver. Out of the box they worked fine when fully loaded but when getting to the last few rounds in the mag I found the spring didn't have much push behind it. I never took it apart to stretch the spring as I sold the rifle shortly after getting the magazine. My 20 cents.

I personally would be replacing the whole bottom metal (plastic) if I was going to get serious about magazine options. Then I could run AI 10 or 5 shots mags. The 10 shot mags that fit the standard mag slots look really out of place on a tikka in my opinion, but I'm sure they'd serve a purpose.

Got me thinking about swapping out the .308 now!!
